Comments

Spring 2020 Biomedical Ethics (PHI 3633-002)

One of the best professors that I have had so far, he is very good at explaining the content of the course in easy to understand terms, especially the more confusing parts that dealt with philosophy. Also handled the COVID situation the best out of all of my professors.

Fall 2019 19th Century Continental Philosophy (PHH 4440-010)

John Preston is an adept lecturer. He does not speak from a 'lectern', but in a 'no man's land', equally student and professor. His engagement with the texts feels fresh. One gets the feeling that despite the fact that he has engaged with the texts for a long time he is a able to approach them anew along with us.

Spring 2019 Introduction to Philosophy (PHI 2010-009)

Mr. Preston is an amazing example of a teacher that cares about their subject and wants to discuss it with all of his students. He made sure we felt free to ask any and all questions. It was very impressive seeing how he was able to take a course with a heavy subject revolving around death and make it something so interesting that I could not stop reading all the books.

Fall 2018 Introduction to Philosophy (PHI 2010-019)

Very good at presenting topics and making them understandable for beginners. Very up-beat and willing to help the students learn and improve.

Spring 2018 Biomedical Ethics (PHI 3633-02)

I loved this class!! John Preston is a knowledgeable and witty instructor. he makes me want to do well. Clear expectations, provides assistance for me to do well.

Fall 2017 Biomedical Ethics (PHI 3633-901)

A clear communicator and easy going teacher. He would always make sure everyone understood the material before moving forward.
